Meet Riley, Founder of Noyette

When it comes to running her own sustainable clothing brand Noyette, San Francisco designer Riley Bennett is all about taking risks. For her, it’s the trying that counts, and she’s always willing to try something new - like launching her brand named precisely after that little voice that often keeps us from taking the plunge into the unknown: “Not yet. Notyet. Noyette”.

Read on to learn about what women inspire this bold business owner, and how she used her warrior energy to turn “not yet” into Noyette.

What people call you: Riley

Where you live: San Francisco

What you do: Founder of women's sustainable brand Noyette

How would you describe your style?

Feminine & bold.

Who are your icons? What is it about them that inspires you?

It's hard to name just one person. Female leaders are inspiring to me and there are so many who have broken down barriers and changed the rules everyone told them couldn't be changed. I admire women that continue to fight against injustices, women that are trying new things, & women who are unafraid to be themselves.

When do you feel most confident?

When I'm wearing a red lip.

What’s your daily routine?

Wake up at 7am, drink tea and go to the park with our french Bulldog. Usually closely followed by jumping on a zoom call for work. I try to take a walk and lunch break around noon if I can and then make dinner after work, and then get an evening park trip with our dog again.

Describe a time in your life when you felt like a modern warrior.

Anytime I just had to figure something out on my own with no one to guide me. I believe you can learn anything for the most part if you are willing to, so I try to just say: “I may not know how to do this, but that doesn't mean I can't figure it out.”

I might not be the best at it, but that feeling of doing something for the first time you taught yourself is very empowering.

How do you relax and unwind?

Reading, Netflix, or listening to Podcasts.

What keeps you going?

Knowing I am the owner of my own future and no one is going to live my life for me, I have to put in the work to create the life I want for myself.

Something you’re obsessed with right now:

Podcasts! Truly obsessed with The Stacks and Second Life podcasts.

What’s your hype up song or anthem:

Like A Girl by Lizzo.

What does Warrior mean to you?

Fighting for what you believe in.
